Abstract

Treatment Strategies of Impacted Teeth with 3D Imaging

Impacted teeth, which are frequently encountered in the treatment of orthodontic malocclusions, have a critical importance in the diagnosis and treatment planning of orthodontics. Today, with the development of three-dimensional technology and the facilitation of diagnosis by CBCT, the strategies to be carried out in the treatment of impacted teeth can be revealed much more clearly. The factors that play a role in the choice of treatment will be revealed with the help of CBCT imaging technique. In this way, the prevention of impacted teeth, the intervention time of impacted teeth and the situations that require extraction of impacted teeth rather than placing them into the dental arch will be explained in this presentation.

Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Müge Aksu graduated in dentistry and orthodontics from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in Turkiye. She became a faculty at the orthodontic department in 2002. Between 2004-2005, she worked as a clinical fellow in Cleft and Craniofacial Center at University of Pittsburgh Children's Hospital in USA. She became an associate professor in 2010 and a professor in 2016. Muge Aksu is the President of the Turkish Orthodontic Society since 2021. She is also one of the founders of the Turkish Cleft Lip and Palate Society, and the member of the Turkish Aligner Society. Prof. Müge Aksu is particularly interested in treatment of childhood/adolescence dental and skeletal disorders, adult treatments, and orthodontic problems that require multidisciplinary treatment. She continuies to convey her professional experience to her colleagues in various national and international conferences, meetings and congresses, all around the world. Müge Aksu works exclusively as an orthodontist.
